Carr served the Boston Celtics with
distinction and class in wide variety of capacities during his two decades
with the organization. M.L. came to Boston as a player from Detroit in
1979, and was a part of the Celtics NBA championship teams in 1981 and
1984. In 1994, he became the C's Executive Vice-President and Director
of Basketball Operations. One year later, he assumed the team's Head Coaching
responsibilities as well. In 1997, he was named Executive Vice-President
of Corporate Development. Prior to joining the Celtics as a player, M.L.
was an NAIA All-American as he led Guilford College to the NAIA National
Championship. In the NBA, he led the league in steals and was a member
of the NBA's All-Defensive squad for the Pistons in 1978-79. M.L. is a
successful businessman, a noted author, and a member of the Board of many
