Mike Tirico is one of sports television's most talented and versatile commentators. He has been the host of ABC Sports' golf coverage since 1996, and his work earned him a 2001 Emmy nomination as top host/play-by-play. Beginning last season, Mike added the role of studio host for ABC's NBA telecasts, which include the NBA Finals. He also serves as a play-by-play voice for ESPN's NBA coverage, and broadcasts college football for ESPN and ABC. He is also a contributor to ESPN SportsCenter, radio, magazine, and internet ventures. Since joining ESPN in 1991, Tirico has covered many major sporting events, including the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, College Football National Championship games, NFL Draft, and Daytona 500. He received his bachelor-of-arts degree in political science and broadcast journalism from prestigious Syracuse University in 1988.
