Howard is an award-winning actor who is perhaps best known for
his memorable performance as a street-savvy teacher in the classic drama
“The White Shadow.” He starred as “Coach Reeves”
in a series he co-created based on his own experiences as the only white
player on his high school basketball team. He starred for the past four
seasons as world-wise retired Detective Lieutenant Max Cavanaugh on NBC’s
“Crossing Jordan.” Ken has also starred in movies and on stage,
and he received a Tony Award for his work as a young gym coach at a Catholic
boys school in “Child’s Play.” He won an Emmy for the
on-camera narration of “Facts for Boys: The
Body Human.” His distinguished voice can be heard on more than 30 best-selling books on tape. A native of Manhasset, New York, Ken was captain of the Amherst College basketball team before moving on the Yale School of Drama. He is also a Harvard man, having taught an undergraduate lecture course at Harvard and one in oral argument at Harvard Law School. return to celebrity listing |
